  The Excellence Center of Science and Mathematics Education (ECSME), King Saud University, is organizing an academic training program specialized in science and mathematics education for faculty members in cooperation with the Center for Studies in Science and Mathematics Education  (CSSME), at the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom.   During the workshop on "Education Reform in Arab Countries: Saudi Arabia as A Model," which opened by the Deputy Minister of Education Mr. Faisal Bin Abdul Rahman Bin Muammar, on behalf of His Highness the Minister of Education, Prince Faisal bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Saud, in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Abdurrahman Al Othman, the rector of King Saud University.   The ECSME, King Saud University, participated with a research paper in the conference on multimedia education of physics in the period 22-25/09/2009 which was held at the Adena University in Italy under the auspices of the European Society of Physics.   The ECSME  submitted a research paper in the international conference on Physics education eesearch, that was held at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA. The research paper was presented by Dr. Hisham bin Abdul Aziz Alhadlaq, ECSME Co- Director for Administratvie and Financial Affairs. This outcome was a result of the partnership with and a joint research conducted by the ECSME team researchers and Professor Carl Wieman, the Nobel Laureate in Physics, and his team from the Univercity of Colorado, Boulder this year. It also reflects the ECSME sought to participate in.
    The Advisory Board of the Excellence Center of Science and Mathematics Education (ECSME) held its first meeting in Riyadh in June 23rd  2009. The meeting, chaired by, Professor Carl Wieman, King Faisal international prize winner in Science and (Nobel laureate) in physics, discuss the strategic plan of the Center , which included the Center's research orientations and the plans and programs that the Center intends to carry out during the next five years.   The board of directors of the Research Excellence Center of Science and Mathematics Education, held its third meeting, chaired by HE Prof. Ali Saeed Al-Ghamdi, Vice–President of KSU for knowledge exchange and technology transfer (Chairman of the Board), Saturday afternoon 13/6/2009, at King Saud University.
