ECSME Submitted a research paper in Physics education research Conference in USA

 

The ECSME  submitted a research paper in the international conference on Physics education eesearch, that was held at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA. The research paper was presented by Dr. Hisham bin Abdul Aziz Alhadlaq, ECSME Co- Director for Administratvie and Financial Affairs. This outcome was a result of the partnership with and a joint research conducted by the ECSME team researchers and Professor Carl Wieman, the Nobel Laureate in Physics, and his team from the Univercity of Colorado, Boulder this year. It also reflects the ECSME sought to participate in international scientific events and taking advantage of the latest findings of the research in the field of Science education, and its keenness to achieve excellence in research publication and to present research findings worldwide.

Dr. Fahad bin Sulaiman Alshaya, Director of ECSME pointed out that the participation represents activation  of the cooperation contract signed between the ECSME and the Carl Wieman Science Education Initiative at the Universities of British Columbia, Canada and Colorado – Boulder, US. The research is focused on measuring student attitudes in Saudi universities towards physics as part of a research to develop the teaching and learning of science at the university level in Saudi Arabia. Dr. Alshaya expressed thanks to the Ministry of Higher Education for financial and moral support of the ECSME, and the H.E. the President of the University and H.E. the Vice President for post graduate Studies and Scientific Research for their support and ongoing encouragement of the ECSME.

The ECSME Research team included Dr. Hisham Alhadlaq, Assistant Professor of Physics, College of Sciences, Dr. Fahad Alshaya, Associate Professor of Science Education, College of Education, Dr. Saleh Alabdulkarim, Assistant Professor of Science Education, College of Education, King Saud University in partnership with Professor Carl Wieman, and the team work from the University of Colorado, Boulder, USA.
